Before you book

Booking Terms & Conditions

Cruise bookings have two layers of conditions. These terms explain the service provided by A1 Australia Travel; the cruise line and other travel suppliers set the conditions for the services they provide.

Read the applicable supplier terms and your written quote before paying. Ask us to clarify anything that affects your booking.

About These Terms

These Australian travel terms describe how we handle enquiries, quotes and bookings. They sit alongside the terms of the cruise line, accommodation provider, airline, tour operator or other supplier involved in your trip.

Supplier rules can differ by fare, sailing and service. Your booking documents identify the conditions that apply. If anything is unclear, ask us before you pay.

We may update these terms over time. The version and supplier conditions provided for your booking are the ones to review when deciding whether to proceed.

Enquiries, Quotations, Deposits and Payments

A quote is an offer of available travel at stated prices and conditions, not a held cabin unless the supplier confirms a hold in writing. Fares and availability can change before confirmation.

Your quote

Check the names, dates, cabin, inclusions, departure port and payment deadlines shown in the quote. Any quote expiry or supplier deadline will be stated there. Prices can change if the supplier changes its fare or availability before the booking is confirmed.

Deposit and balance

The deposit amount, balance date and accepted payment methods depend on the sailing and the suppliers in your package. We’ll provide the applicable cruise payment terms before you commit. A booking is subject to supplier acceptance and confirmation.

Payment deadlines

Make each payment by the date shown on your confirmation. If a payment is late, the supplier may cancel the booking or apply its cancellation charges. Contact us promptly if you think you may miss a deadline.

Cancellations and Amendments

Cancellation costs depend on the supplier’s rules and the timing of your request. Some fares become partly or entirely non-refundable well before departure.

When you cancel

Tell us in writing if you want to cancel. We’ll check the supplier’s schedule and explain the charges we can confirm. Charges may increase as departure approaches, and deposits or payments may not be refundable. Any applicable supplier, airline, accommodation or administration fees will be explained against your booking.

When you request a change

Name corrections, passenger substitutions, date changes, cabin changes and itinerary changes are all subject to supplier approval. A change can trigger a fee, a fare difference, a new deposit or cancellation of the original booking. We’ll confirm the available options and known costs before asking the supplier to make the change.

Supplier rules apply

If a supplier’s cancellation or amendment conditions differ from our service terms, the supplier’s conditions govern the service it provides. Your written confirmation is the best reference for the rules and deadlines attached to your sailing.

Documents, Insurance, Health and Mobility

Travel requirements are your responsibility to check and meet. Requirements can vary by nationality, destination, itinerary and supplier.

Passports and visas

Make sure every traveller has the passport validity, visas, permits and other documents required for the full itinerary, including transit stops. Check current official requirements before travel and confirm any cruise-line document rules. Missing or unsuitable documents can prevent boarding.

Travel insurance

Consider suitable travel insurance when you book. Check the policy for medical care, cancellation, existing conditions, cruise travel and any activities you plan to take part in. Insurance is a separate contract between you and the insurer.

Health, mobility and pregnancy

Tell us and the supplier about relevant health, mobility, dietary or pregnancy needs before booking. Cruise lines can set medical, mobility and pregnancy requirements, and some facilities or excursions may not suit every traveller. Early, accurate details give us a chance to check what the supplier can accommodate.

See our inclusive travel information and ask about accessible cruise cabins before choosing a fare.

Shore Excursions, Supplier Terms and Liability

Shore excursions may be sold by the cruise line or by an independent local operator. The provider’s terms apply to that excursion, including its schedule, meeting point, accessibility and cancellation rules. Check the excursion details carefully, especially when arranging an independent tour around a port call.

By asking us to proceed with a booking, you acknowledge that supplier-specific conditions apply to the sailing and other services in your itinerary. Those conditions may cover fare changes, cancellations, itinerary changes, onboard conduct and participation requirements. We can point you to the relevant documents, but the supplier sets and operates its own service.

A1 Australia Travel handles the travel arrangements described in your booking. We’re not the cruise line or the provider of third-party services. Our responsibility is subject to the booking terms and applicable Australian consumer law, including rights that cannot be excluded or limited.

If you’re unsure about a deadline, fare rule or supplier condition, ask before paying. We’ll check the details with you.
